What is elevator telephone monitoring? Answer: Elevator telephone monitoring is one of the most important safety features in an elevator, and it needs to be handled correctly. When a person is trapped in an elevator and pushes the help button, they need to be connected to trained personnel, who can provide immediate response, day or night.
Why do I need 24 hour elevator phone monitoring? Answer: The ASME A17.1 Safety Code for Elevators, Section 2.27 states the requirements and regulations for elevator emergency communication and signaling devices. A small excerpt from the code: "...two way communication shall be provided, ... and shall be directed to a location staffed by authorized personnel who can take appropriate action...". In most jurisdictions your elevator will not pass inspection and licensing unless your 24 hour monitoring is in place and working correctly.

How long does it take to get monitoring set up? Answer: We have the ability to get your account up and running within 24 hours. In many cases we can have it done the same day. If time is critical, just let us know and we will do our best to get you activated as soon as possible.
Are there any other hidden fees? Answer: No! All fees are included in your monthly monitoring fee. No setup fees, No line fees, no programming fees, and with our toll free number, no long distance fees.
How does it work? Answer: We ask you some basic information to set up your account and provide you with a toll free number to program your elevator phone to call. Your elevator maintenance contractor usually does the elevator phone programming. When a call comes in, we will determine if it is an emergency, and take the appropriate action based on the information you have provided. For example: If someone is trapped in the elevator we can immediately alert your authorized responder, security staff, or the fire department, etc. If the call is regarding some non-emergency issue with the elevator, or a false alarm, we can call or email your site contact during business hours.
If I change elevator maintenance contractors do I need to cancel my phone monitoring contract? Answer: No! You can update or change your account information at any time, free of charge. It's common to have one elevator service provider for a warranty period and another after the warranty is up. We make this transition seamless, without interruption.
What happens at the end of my term? Answer: Your monitoring will continue on a monthly basis, under the terms of your agreement. You can cancel at any time for any reason, with 30 days notice, after your initial term has expired.
